New York City high school student Max Pierson-Panes designed and built his first computer at age 11. Since then he has built and refurbished hundreds of systems, often giving them to friends and family members without charge. Collective Computers is Max's means of putting computers and other helpful technology into the hands of those in need. Max obtains computers and parts as donations from companies and individuals, refurbishes them and provides the results to organizations and individuals who would not otherwise be able to afford them.
